Lamination Facts

  • Lamination packaging extends the shelf life of a product.

  • The lamination structure acts as barriers that prevent both moisture and oxygen from spoiling the product inside the packaging.

  • The correct lamination structure is entirely dependent on the product inside the packaging and how it is stored/used.

  • Lamination packaging can be vacuum sealed or allow for breathability.

  • There are usually three components to a laminate structure:

    • Printable layer

    • High barrier layer

    • Sealant/ integrity layer
